Pay It Forward [Three imperfect people. One perfect idea. When someone does you a big favor, don't pay it back … Pay It Forward.]

here’s the PLOT of the movie entitled “PAY IT FORWARD”

An 11-year-old schoolboy in Las Vegas, Nevada named Trevor McKinney (Haley Joel Osment) is given a class project to complete by his social studies teacher Eugene Simonet (Kevin Spacey), a man with terrible burn scars on his face and neck. His task is to come up with a plan that will change the world through direct action. On his way home from school later that day, Trevor notices a homeless man, Jerry (James Caviezel) and decides to make a difference in Jerry’s life. Trevor then comes up with the plan to “pay it forward” by doing a good deed for three people who must in turn each do good deeds for three other people. Trevor’s plan is to help Jerry by feeding and housing him so he can “get on his feet.”

The next morning, Trevor’s mother, Arlene McKinney (Helen Hunt), a single mother recovering from alcoholism, becomes angry with Trevor after finding Jerry in their house. She then accuses and confronts Eugene at the school about the reason Trevor has allowed Jerry into their home. Eugene is also intrigued by Trevor’s response to the social studies project.

Later that night back at their home, Trevor confronts his mother about her alcoholism, and in a fit of anger she slaps him across the face. Trevor runs away from home, and Arlene asks Eugene to help her find him. They find Trevor at a bus station, about to be molested. Trevor and Arlene embrace in relief after Arlene apologizes profusely.

Meanwhile, Chris (Jay Mohr), a journalist, is trying to find out why a total stranger gave him a brand new Jaguar S-Type car after Chris’ old 1965 Ford Mustang was damaged in a car accident. The stranger’s only explanation is that he is simply “paying it forward”. When Chris asks him for more information, the man explains that, when he recently visited a hospital while his daughter was suffering an asthma attack, a gang member suffering from a stab wound actually took up a gun to force the doctors to look at the man’s daughter before she collapsed, prompting Chris to begin his search again.

After Trevor’s apparently unsuccessful attempt to help Jerry, he decides to help Eugene by setting him up with Arlene, Trevor’s own mother. Their relationship grows in strength until Arlene’s ex-husband, Ricky (Jon Bon Jovi), who claims he has “changed” and has quit drinking, shows up unannounced and Arlene decides to give him another chance.

When Arlene later tries to explain her choice to Eugene, the audience learns how Eugene’s burns were the result of terrible child abuse by his father. Eugene is concerned not just about the abusive and violent nature of Trevor’s father, but that the simple absence of a loving father is detrimental to Trevor’s well-being. He explains that his father was always abusive of him and his mother always took him back. At sixteen, Eugene ran away from home and later came back, asking his mother to come with him but his father knocked him out and proceeded to burn him, resulting in a number of scars on his chest. Arlene feels that she must nevertheless give her ex-husband another chance, but shortly thereafter he becomes angry and violent and it appears that he has not in fact stopped drinking alcohol. Arlene realizes what a terrible mistake she has made. She feels that Eugene will never take her back, and Eugene for his part is not prepared to rekindle the relationship.

At around this point, Jerry, who has moved on to another city, discovers a woman about to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge; even when she throws her purse at him and yells at him to get away, Jerry simply talks gently to her, encouraging her to come down and talk to him about her problems. Meanwhile, Chris discovers the gang member who helped the man’s daughter, who reveals that he was brought into the ‘pay it forward’ movement when he was rescued from the police by a homeless woman in a car. Having located the woman (played by Angie Dickinson), she tells Chris that she herself was given the idea by her daughter…who turns out to be Arlene.

Arlene seeks out her mother, Grace, whom she has not seen in three years. She says she wishes to say something to her and gives her mother the gift that enables Grace to have faith that she can become sober for a few days, long enough to visit the family and see her grandson. Arlene tells her mother that she forgives her for everything.

Having tracked down Arlene, Chris finally identifies Trevor as the originator of “pay it forward,” which appears to be turning into a social movement, and conducts a recorded interview at the school. Trevor explains his hopes for the concept, but voices his concerns that people may be too afraid to change their own lives in order to make the whole world a better place. Eugene and Arlene are both present during the interview. When Eugene hears Trevor’s words, he realizes that he and Arlene should be together.

As Eugene and Arlene reconcile with a passionate embrace, they hear shouts and scuffling outside. Trevor has come to the defense of a friend who is being attacked by bullies, and is trying to fight them off, although they are older and bigger. As Eugene and Arlene run down to stop the fight, the main bully who is a gangster-like boy impulsively pulls out a knife. Trevor is pushed onto the boy with the knife and is thus inadvertently stabbed in the abdomen. Trevor is rushed to hospital, where he dies from the stabbing.

Terribly distraught, Arlene and Eugene are later watching a television news report about “pay it forward” and Trevor’s death, and learn that the movement has grown nationwide. Venturing outside, they see hundreds of people gathering in a vigil to pay their respects to Trevor, with yet more people arriving in a stream of vehicles visible in the distance as the movie ends.

Explosive fiery passion bursts from the belly of our
powerful undulating sun gripping our fertile mother

Chaotic fluctuating spasms of energy pop in and out

Emo Music

Is it just me, or does Emo music suck a long with everything else Emo? It’s kinda a mix between Pop/Rock. The lyrics try to go into serious issues and come accrros as smart, but they simply don’t. There’s softcore Emo music which is Simple Plan and Greenday. Then you got your “hardcore” Slipknot and cradle of filth. Hardcore or Softcore, Emo music just sucks.

What do you need to be emo?

I’ve never really considered what is the criteria of being an Emo. Below are some factors that I think contribute to being an Emo.

  • Myspace - You must have a emo layout on your Myspace account with all your Emo buddies as contacts.
  • Hair - This is really requirement number one. You must have an emo hair style.
  • Emotions - You must take offense soon as anyone says anything bad about you or your pet fish.
  • Shirt - You must have a band fan shirt like cradle of filth.
  • Pants - You must wear dark black emo pants.
  • Shoes - Wearing high top converse shoes is necessary.

Think that covers it all.

Fall Out Boy (commonly abbreviated as FOB) is an American band from Wilmette, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) that formed in 2001. The band consists of Patrick Stump (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and primary composer), Pete Wentz (bass guitar, backup vocals, and primary lyricist), Joe Trohman (lead guitar), and Andy Hurley (drums).

Fall Out Boy has won several awards for its major label debut album From Under the Cork Tree. Released in 2005, the album has achieved double platinum status after selling more than 2.5 million albums in the United States alone. In support of the album, Fall Out Boy headlined tours in 2005 and 2006 playing in the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Europe.

In February 2007, the band released Infinity on High to major chart success, selling 260,000 copies its first week. The lead single, "This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race", reached #1 on the Billboard Pop 100 and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. To promote the album, the band is headlining the Honda Civic Tour through the summer of 2007 and performing at the Live Earth concerts July 7, 2007.

Biography

Fall Out Boy was formed in early 2001 after good friends Joe Trohman and Pete Wentz met high schooler Patrick Stump. Stump soon became the lead singer and two other unknown members, a guitar player and a drummer, were brought on. The following year, the band debuted with a self-released demo and followed it up with the May 28, 2002 release of Split EP, which featured Project Rocket, on Uprising Records. The group released a mini-LP, Fall Out Boy’s Evening Out with Your Girlfriend, also on Uprising Records, in 2003.[1]

2003–2004: Independent success

After the release of their mini-album, Fall Out Boy built a large cult following playing in the Chicago area and drummer Andy Hurley, formerly of Racetraitor, joined the band while the two other members left. During this time, they played many local shows at the The Knights of Columbus Hall in Arlington Heights, Illinois, also the site of their first video: Dead on Arrival. The same year, after signing to Fueled by Ramen, they released their first full-length album, Take This to Your Grave, on May 6, 2003. The band received an advance from Island Records to record their proper debut, but the advance came with a right of first refusal for Island on Fall Out Boy’s next album. With major financing in place, the recording of Take This to Your Grave took place at the Butch Vig owned Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, with Sean O’Keefe producing.

With singles "Grand Theft Autumn / Where Is Your Boy" and "Saturday" receiving video airplay on FUSE and mtvU and radio airplay on alternative stations across the country, the band soon gained a cult following. With very positive reviews at the South by Southwest Music Festival and an extensive tour schedule, Fall Out Boy’s popularity continued to grow. The album sold very well and eventually achieved gold status, but only after the success of their next album, From Under the Cork Tree.

In mid-2003 the band signed with Island Records which is apart of the super label The Island Def Jam Music Group, along with Def Jam Records. This was after they picked up the option for their next album. In the meantime of recording their mainstream debut, they released the acoustic EP My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue on Fueled by Ramen, May 18, 2004. It debuted at #153 on the Billboard Top 200, their first such entry on the chart. The two-disc set included a DVD with videos, more acoustic performances and a fan photo gallery.[1]

2005–2006: Commercial debut

On May 3, 2005, Fall Out Boy released their major label debut, From Under the Cork Tree,[1] which debuted on the Billboard 200 at #9, selling over 68,000 copies in its first week. The album achieved double platinum status and has sold over 2.5 million albums in the US alone.[2] Earlier that year, the band’s stability was threatened when Wentz overdosed on the sedative Ativan in a failed suicide attempt. The track "7 Minutes in Heaven (Atavan Halen)" from their album From Under the Cork Tree is based upon Wentz’s attempted suicide.[3]

Their first single, "Sugar We’re Goin’ Down", peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, #6 on the Pop 100 and #3 on the Modern Rock Charts. The video reached #1 on MTV’s TRL, where it was retired on August 26, 2005. The video also won the MTV2 Award at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards, prompting a huge new interest and surge in sales. The band was also nominated for "Best New Artist" at the 2006 Grammy Awards.

The second single off the album, "Dance, Dance", became their second Top 10 Single when it peaked at #9 on the Hot 100. It also reached #6 on the Pop 100 and became the bands top charted hit when it reached #2 on the Modern Rock Charts. The video for the song premiered on TRL on October 11, 2005; it soon reached #1 and was later retired on January 17, 2006. The third single off the album, "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More ‘Touch Me’", was much less popular than both prior singles but still managed to peak at #65 on the Hot 100 and hit #1 twice on TRL, retiring on June 6, 2006.

The band headlined the Nintendo Fusion Tour in the fall of 2005, joining The Starting Line, Motion City Soundtrack, Boys Night Out, and Panic! At the Disco on a 31 city tour.[4] Due to their increased success from their MTV Video Music Award, they headlined the Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour–an emo/pop punk event that featured All-American Rejects, Hawthorne Heights, From First to Last. The tour also featured The Hush Sound for half of the tour and October Fall for half. They played to 53 dates in the US, Canada, and the UK.[5]

2007: Continuing prosperity

Fall Out Boy’s latest album is titled Infinity on High and was released on February 6, 2007. The lead single, "This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race", debuted at the 2006 American Music Awards. The video debuted on MTV on Tuesday, December 19, 2006. In the album’s opening week, Infinity on High reached number 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 260,000 copies.[6]

"This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race" peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart on February 4, 2007, making it their most successful song in the UK to date. The single also peaked on the U.S. Hot 100 at number 2 and the U.S. Pop 100 at number 1. "The Carpal Tunnel of Love" (the second single released from the album) reached number 81 on the U.S. Hot 100 by way of digital sales alone.[7] "Thnks fr th Mmrs" was released on April 9, 2007 and is currently at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #12 on the UK Singles chart.

Fall Out Boy is currently headlining the Honda Civic Tour along with +44, The Academy Is…, Paul Wall and Cobra Starship. The tour was originally scheduled to start April 18 and end on June 11. However, due to personal issues,[8] the tour was postponed until May 11, where the first show was played in Denver, Colorado. The tour is now scheduled to end July 2 in Anaheim, California in the United States and continue on in the United Kingdom.[9]

Showing their versatility, Fall Out Boy has collaborated with rappers Kanye West and Timbaland and are currently touring with Paul Wall. West produced and is featured on the remix of "This Ain’t A Scene, It’s an Arms Race". They also worked with Timbaland on his new album Timbaland Presents Shock Value, where they are featured on the track "One & Only", for which Stump and Wentz both contributed in writing.[10] Stump was also featured on two songs with Gym Class Heroes (also signed with Fueled By Ramen), including their #1 Single Cupid’s Chokehold. He also was a guest vocalist on Motion City Soundtrack’s single, "Everything is Alright".

The band has been confirmed as one of the acts playing in the US portion of the Live Earth concerts on July 7, 2007. The band is scheduled to perform at the event, which takes place at New Jersey’s Giants Stadium, along with AFI, Akon, Alicia Keys, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, John Mayer, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, KT Tunstall, Ludacris, Melissa Etheridge, The Police, Rihanna, Roger Waters, and the reunited Smashing Pumpkins.[11]

Musical style

While widely considered to be an alternative rock band, Fall Out Boy is often described as pop punk and emo. By their own admission, their music has elements of pop and punk, but is not pop punk.[12] They have also stated that they are not an emo band.[13]

My Chemical Romance (also known My Chem, MCR, The Black Parade) [1]is an American rock band that formed in 2001. The current members of the band are Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Frank Iero, Mikey Way, and Bob Bryar. The band signed to Eyeball Records shortly after forming, and released their debut album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love in 2002. They signed with Epitaph Records the next year and released their major label debut Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004. The album was a major commercial success, selling over two million copies due in part to the success of the singles "Helena", "I’m Not Okay (I Promise)", and "The Ghost of You". The band followed this success with 2006’s The Black Parade, featuring their biggest hit "Welcome to the Black Parade". While the band defines their sound as simply "Rock", the subgenre of the band’s recordings has been a subject of debate among fans and the media.

The band was formed by frontman Gerard Way and ex-drummer Matt Pelissier around a week after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Witnessing the planes crash into the World Trade Center influenced Way’s life to the extent that he decided to start a band. Way wrote the song "Skylines and Turnstiles" to express his feelings about September 11th. Shortly thereafter, Ray Toro was called up and asked to join the band because at the time Way couldn’t sing and play the guitar at the same time.[2] The first recording sessions were done in Pelissier’s attic, where the songs "Our Lady of Sorrows" (formerly called "Bring More Knives") and "Cubicles" were recorded. Mikey Way, the younger brother of Gerard, loved the demo so much that he decided to join the band.[2]

My Chemical Romance was signed with Eyeball Records and played in the same room as Pencey Prep and Thursday. It was there that the band met Frank Iero, the lead vocalist and guitarist for Pencey Prep. After Pencey Prep broke up in 2001/2002, Frank became a guitarist for My Chemical Romance, just days before the band’s debut album was recorded.[2] Three months after the formation of the band they recorded their debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, subsequently released in 2002 on Eyeball Records. Despite only joining the band a few days before the album recording sessions began, Iero played guitar on two of the tracks, one of them being "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville".

In 2003, the band signed a deal with Reprise Records. Following a tour with Avenged Sevenfold, the band began work on their second album, entitled Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Released in 2004, the album went platinum within a year. The band released three singles from the album: "I’m Not Okay (I Promise)", "Helena" and "The Ghost of You". It was during this time that the band replaced Matt Pelissier with Bob Bryar, after they went to Japan in July 2004. The true nature of Pelissier’s departure was due to an argument with band member Ray Toro as a result of mistakes made by the drummer during live performances.[citation needed]

At the start of 2005, the band was directly supported on the first ever Taste of Chaos tour, and was also the opening act for Green Day on the American Idiot tour. During the summer, they headlined Warped Tour 2005 with Fall Out Boy. Later that year, My Chemical Romance co-headlined and headlined their own tour with Alkaline Trio and Reggie and the Full Effect around the US. That same year, My Chemical Romance and The Used collaborated on a cover of the David Bowie and Queen classic, "Under Pressure" that was released as a benefit single on iTunes and other Internet outlets.

On March 21, 2006, a 2 DVD/1 CD set entitled Life on the Murder Scene was released. It included one DVD chronicling the band’s history, and a second DVD with music videos, the making of their videos, and a couple of live performances. An unauthorized biography DVD Things That Make You Go MMM! was also released on June 27, 2006. The DVD does not actually feature any My Chemical Romance music clips or performances, but contains interviews with those who knew the band before much of their fame.[3]

The band started recording their third studio album on April 10, 2006 with Rob Cavallo, producer of many of Green Day’s albums.[4][5] It was originally thought to be titled The Rise and Fall of My Chemical Romance, but in an interview with Kerrang! magazine, Gerard Way suggested this was just the album’s working title, stating "It was never the title of the album, more a spoof, or joke."[6]

On August 3, 2006, the band finished shooting the videos for their first two singles from the album, "Welcome to the Black Parade" and "Famous Last Words", to be released on January 22, 2007.[7] The video was directed by Sam Bayer, director of Nirvana’s "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Green Day’s American Idiot videos.[8] During the shoot for "Famous Last Words", band members Gerard Way and Bob Bryar were injured. Way suffered torn ligaments in his ankle, and Bryar a burn to the leg which caused a severe staph infection that needed constant monitoring in hospital. Consequently, the band was forced to cancel a few tour dates. While these injuries were reported by several news agencies to have been the result of a car accident, a statement released by the band on their website and MySpace page has confirmed that these injuries occurred on the set of the video.[9]

A biography titled Something Incredible This Way Comes was released, written by Paul Stenning (Published in 2006). It features their beginnings, right through to The Black Parade. On August 22, 2006, the band played a special one-off show at the 1800-capacity London Hammersmith Palais. The show sold out in 15 minutes prompting tickets being sold on eBay well over the tickets’ face value. The name of the album they promoted was announced and 20 people dressed in black capes with their faces obscured paraded around Hammersmith, followed by a large group of fans and street team members with signs saying "The Black Parade". Later during the show the album title and the UK release date were confirmed. Prior to the band taking the stage it was announced that My Chemical Romance were unable to play, but they would be replaced by "The Black Parade". After initial crowd hostility it became clear the band were simply performing under a pseudonym in keeping with the theme of the album. When the set began, the backdrop art displayed the words "The Black Parade".

On September 2, 2006, My Chemical Romance posted "Welcome to the Black Parade" on their MySpace page and their PureVolume page.[9] "Welcome to the Black Parade" had its first radio airing on September 11, 2006. On September 26, 2006 the "Welcome to the Black Parade" music video was released in the UK, and on September 27 in the US.[6]

On October 12, 2006, My Chemical Romance made a rare in-store performance to 500 fans at Virgin Megastores on London’s Oxford Street. In order to get wristbands for the event, many fans slept outside the shop the previous night. British band Towers of London caused trouble at the event when the Towers guitarist, Dirk Tourette, allegedly flicked a cigarette butt at Bob Bryar while he was performing.[10] "Welcome to the Black Parade" reached number one on October 15, 2006, on the UK Singles Chart, giving them their first number one. The Black Parade was released on October 23, 2006 in the United Kingdom and on October 24 in the United States.

The Black Parade World Tour started on February 22, 2007, with Rise Against, Thursday and Muse as support acts[11]. At the first concert of the tour in Manchester, New Hampshire, My Chemical Romance announced the addition of Reggie and the Full Effect frontman James Dewees, who will play keyboards/synth on the tour. On March 12, 2007, the band appeared on the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as the host. They played their single, "Famous Last Words" at the ending of the show as flames were bursting behind them.

My Chemical Romance received many positive and negative accolades. In Kerrang! magazine, issue 1138, My Chemical Romance won the following categories in the 2006 poll: Best Band, Worst Band, Best Album (The Black Parade), Worst Album (The Black Parade), Best Track ("Welcome to the Black Parade"), Best Video ("Welcome to the Black Parade"), Best Live Show, Best Thing About 2006, Worst Thing About 2006, Hero of 2006 (Gerard Way), Villain of 2006 (Gerard Way), and Sexiest Male (Gerard Way). Also, in issue 1139, Kerrang! rated The Black Parade as the 4th Greatest Album of 2006. In Rolling Stone magazine’s ranking of the top 50 albums of 2006, The Black Parade was voted the 20th best album of the year. My Chemical Romance won the award for "Best International Band" at the 2007 NME Awards. Gerard also won the "Hero of the Year" award.[12]

On April 2, My Chemical Romance released "I Don’t Love You" as their third single from The Black Parade album. This single was a UK only release. To coincide with this release date, the band performed an exclusive gig for BBC Radio 1 at the KOKO venue in London[13]. Tickets were made exclusively available as competition prizes. The show was broadcast live on Radio 1 and was broadcast later on BBC 2.

My Chemical Romance will be a part of Linkin Park’s Projekt Revolution tour this summer[1], along with, Placebo, Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, HIM, and of course, Linkin Park. According to a radio interview (WXDX - Pittsburgh) with Linkin Park’s DJ Joe Hahn, the band plans to announce official dates on their Website in early May.

The band recently announced that the next single to be released will be "Teenagers", which was to be released on May 1st, 2007 according to FMQB. The date was then further pushed to May 15, 2007, FMQB has since stated the single is already out.[14] Also, several photos from the making of "Teenagers" music video have been leaked onto Buzznet.[15] On May 8, 2007, a short clip of the song was shown in Linkin Park’s 3-minute Projekt Revolution trailer on YouTube (which is seen here). About 55 seconds into the trailer, it shows a 30 second portion of My Chemical Romance performing "Welcome to the Black Parade", "Famous Last Words", and "Teenagers" The video will be premiering on may 30 on "The Sauce" on Fuse. On April 19, 2007, it was announced that Mikey Way would temporarily leave My Chemical Romance’s current tour to spend time with his new wife Alicia Simmons/Way. Mikey’s temporary replacement is Matt Cortez, a tech, and friend of the band.[16]

During the third leg of The Black Parade World Tour with support act Muse, members of My Chemical Romance band and crew and members of Muse’s crew were struck by food poisoning, thus canceling six shows.[17]

Musical style

The band’s music has been described variously by the media as "alternative rock", "emo", "pop punk",[18] "post-hardcore"[18] and "punk revival".[18] The band themselves described their music as simply "rock" or "violent, dangerous pop" on their official website,[19] as well as rejecting the term "emo"[20] to describe their style. Another source quotes Gerard stating they are "What-else-ya-got-emo".[2]

My Chemical Romance cite their main influences as Queen, Thursday, Iron Maiden, The Misfits, Pink Floyd,[21] and Morrissey/The Smiths.[22] Geoff Rickly, the lead singer of Thursday, has also compared them to Ink & Dagger.[2] Growing up, they were also very influenced by horror films and comic books, and therefore their music, lyrics, and image all have overt elements of fantasy, storytelling, horror, and theatricality.

Criticism

My Chemical Romance was among the first bands to achieve prominence by offering free downloads through PureVolume[23] and the social networking site MySpace, where MCR gathered its first few thousand fans.[24] The band has clearly grown well beyond those initial numbers, expanding their fan base beyond the typical fans of their musical style and direction,[25] partially helped by the more mainstream sound of their 2004 album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. MCR are sometimes maligned by the "grassroots" fans, for the expanded fan base, due to attracting fans they claim are "dirty great bummers", after the release of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Due to the increased amount of new fans, some of the old fanbase considers the band a "sellout" and the new MCR fans "poseurs". The fans are particularly vocal on online forums.[26][27]

My Chemical Romance has also been criticized musically. The British indie rock band Kasabian labeled the band "clowns" and "emo kids" who "don’t have anything positive to say" and "should get out more and try and have a good time instead."[28] My Chemical Romance played the main stage at the 2006 Reading and Leeds Festival—this was the largest show they have ever played in the UK. According to issue 221 of Alternative Press, they followed thrash metal band Slayer and were not received warmly by the crowd at Reading, as the band was subjected to heavy bottling. Large sections of the audience threw bacon, tangerines, golf balls, and bottles filled with urine at the group as they played.[29]

Relationship with The Used

The Used is known to have both a personal and a professional relationship with My Chemical Romance. My Chemical Romance and The Used have covered "Under Pressure" (originally by David Bowie and Queen) in concert on multiple occasions. Bert McCracken also sings on the track "You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison," from My Chemical Romance’s Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. On My Chemical Romance’s DVD, Life on the Murder Scene, the band’s manager, Brian Schecter, states that he introduced the two bands to each other, as he had once been The Used’s tour manager.

In recent months, however, the two lead singers of both bands seem to have had a dispute involving the addition of "Under Pressure" to The Used’s In Love and Death.

In an interview with Blender, Gerard Way talks about the last time he and Bert McCracken crossed paths, during the San Diego stop of Warped Tour 2005. "It was really unfortunate," says Way. "We were about to take the stage and he was standing with a megaphone trying to get kids not to watch us. We just hit the feedback and drowned him out."[30]
